In the early 1940s, on the grasslands of northern China near Beijing, there lived a cunning and formidable horse thief named Chagan, nicknamed “The Lynx.” He was notorious for appearing and disappearing like a ghost, repeatedly stealing heavily guarded herds of horses. Although he had been captured by Nationalist troops, he managed to escape death several times, each time slipping away like a phantom.
