Hiroshi Chida harbored secret feelings for Yuriko, a nurse at his father Yasuhiro's hospital. However, a cruel twist of fate saw his father marry Yuriko instead; Hiroshi left home, crashed at a friend's boarding house, and spiraled into a dissolute life of drinking and gambling. By chance, Hiroshi reunited with his biological mother.
