Kevin MacMichael was an acclaimed Canadian guitarist, songwriter, and record producer best known as a co-founder and the lead guitarist of the 1980s pop-rock band Cutting Crew. He co-wrote and played the distinctive, soaring guitar tracks on their massive 1986 global number-one hit, "(I Just) Died in Your Arms". Known for his melodic, textured, and highly intentional playing style, MacMichael earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist with the band in 1988. Following his time with Cutting Crew, he became a core collaborator for Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant, serving as his guitarist and musical director on the critically acclaimed 1993 album Fate of Nations.
