Maria Karl Vatsulka / stage name Maria Karel / was born on January 29, 1927 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She graduated from the National Academy for Theatre and Film Art, Sofia, Bulgaria in the Acting class of Professor Krastyo Mirski in 1958.
