Abderrahmane El Kebir
Abderrahmane El Kebir (in arabic : عبد الرحمن الكبير), born February 1, 1930 in Maghnia, Algeria and died July 21, 2017 in Paris, is an Algerian actor. After a few extras, he was hired by Ali Ghalem to play the lead role in his film/documentary Mektoub, which tells the story of a young Maghrebian arriving in France in the 1970s, lost in a world he does not know. He was then assigned to the roles that French cinema attributed to Maghrebians in the 1970s and 80s: dark henchman, terrorist, grocer... Often credited El Kebir, El Kebir, Adder El Kebir, Abderrahmane El Kebir, he will accumulate throughout his career, between 1969 and 2017, more than seventy appearances in films, TV films and short films. He will work with Michel Audiard, Gérard Oury, Georges Lautner, Mathieu Kassovitz, among others... Abderrahmane El Kebir died on July 21, 2017 in Paris.
