A group of insane individuals who have escaped from a maximum-security mental hospital firmly believes themselves to be Soviet partisans and the orderlies to be Gestapo officers. The group is led by a hardened schizophrenic named Matvey. Neo, an outpatient, suffers from a mild mental disorder. But the escapees explain to him that things aren’t as they seem — that actually, fascists are everywhere, and the war never truly ended.
